This Battery Atlas aims to meet the challenges de-scribed above by providing as detailed as possible an insight into the individual topics of the lithium-ion bat-tery. For this purpose, the Battery Atlas shows the com-petence carriers and classifies them on the European map.

The German government recently announced massive cuts to state funding for battery research. The 2024 Battery Atlas is available for download in the Electric Mobility Guides section. A limited print edition of the document will also be published soon. A free print copy can be ordered by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
With a total of nine market areas covered, the 2024 Atlas covers a large part of the overall battery life cycle. According to the updated document, Europe remains a key market despite high energy costs, with Hungary developing into an important player in battery production alongside Germany.
