PV system is one among the most prominent renewable sources of energy where the generated solar power is converted into electricity with the help of solar PV cells. A solar PV system along with battery energy storage with the help of bidirectional DC-DC converter has been accomplished in this proposed work.
The power extracted from solar panel during the daytime is used to charge the batteries through the DC-DC converter operating in buck mode and when solar power is unavailable, the battery discharges to supply power to DC load through the converter operating in boost mode.
In the case of energy storage systems, bidirectionality is an essential characteristic, as these systems sometimes work as generators and sometimes as a load.
