When a capacitor is fully charged?

Charging refers to the situation where there is an increase in potential difference while both conducting plates get an equal and opposite charge. The capacitor is fully charged when the voltage of the power supply is equal to that at the capacitor terminals. How do you calculate the charge and discharge of a capacitor?

What happens when a capacitor is fully discharged?

As charge flows from one plate to the other through the resistor the charge is neutralised and so the current falls and the rate of decrease of potential difference also falls. Eventually the charge on the plates is zero and the current and potential difference are also zero - the capacitor is fully discharged.
