16s Battery Pack Ref. Des. W/ Low-Side MOSFET Control for Large Capacity Apps. This reference design is a low current consumption and high cell voltage accuracy 16s Lithium-ion (Li-ion), LiFePO4 battery pack. The design monitors each cell voltage, pack current, cell and MOSFET temperature and protects the battery pack to secure safe use.
16. The connection between the positive pole of the 15th battery string and the negative pole of the 16th battery string is marked as B15. 17. The positive electrode of the 16th battery string is marked as B16. Note: Because the battery pack has a total of 16 strings, B16 is also the total positive pole of the battery pack.
This reference design is a low standby and ship-mode current consumption and high cell voltage accuracy 10s–16s Lithium-ion (Li-ion), LiFePO4 battery pack design.
Lower current consumption saves more energy and gives longer storage time without discharging the battery too much. This design focuses on very large capacity battery pack applications, such as BBU for telecommunications and servers, 48-V ESS, e-motorcycles, portable power station, and so forth.
