A new framework is proposed to assess the photovoltaic capacity of city roads. Roads’ solar energy is estimated precisely by street views and solar radiation model. Street canyon, weather, traffic, trees are considered in the radiation calculation. Traffic condition in Boston shows limited impact on solar energy generation of roads.
