Such abnormal voltage data occur because the battery has experienced over-charging, over-discharging, imbalance, thermal runaway, and other faults [5, 6], causing voltage changes abnormally. Consistency anomaly detection of the battery voltage can help to achieve early warning of battery faults and avoid safety accidents in energy storage stations.
To diagnose battery voltage fault, it is indispensable to set voltage abnormity thresholds. In this study, the voltage abnormity thresholds are set based on the statistics of voltage prediction errors and voltage difference between cells under different driving conditions.
During the operation of the battery system, the current stays the same, and the changing trend of the terminal voltage is theoretically consistent for the series-connected battery pack. If a cell has faults, its voltage trend will be different from others.
