Can a capacitor be replaced in a dehumidifier?

Seeking advice on replacing a capacitor to the compressor in an dehumidifier. The capacitor in question is a CBB61 3 wire 7uF 450V one, made New Tech. It is also rated at 50/60Hz

How do you connect a capacitor to a dehumidifier?

The capacitor has one wire from the dehumidifier's main board which connects into it. 2 wires, a red and white then lead away from the capacitor to connect to the compressor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance J. Edit: Extra photos of the ID sticker of EasyHome dehumidifier and the capcitor at a different angle Answered!

What does a capacitor do?

The action of a capacitor Capacitors store charge and energy. They have many applications, including smoothing varying direct currents, electronic timing circuits and powering the memory to store information in calculators when they are switched off. A capacitor consists of two parallel conducting plates separated by an insulator.

Why does a high speed capacitor have a bigger problem than resistance?

As you go to higher speed, inductance causes a bigger problem than resistance. The capacitor acts as a very close source of power. You pull your high speed power from the capacitor and the power source slowly charges the capacitor. When done properly, everything works to spec.

What happens if a capacitor is exposed to high temperature?

The gradual evaporation of the electrolyte when these capacitors are exposed to high temperatures causes a decrease in capacitance and an increase in tangent of loss angle (tan δ / DF). Generally, exposing capacitors to harsh environment causes degradation of their electrical characteristics.

How does temperature affect the capacitance of an electrolytic capacitor?

The capacitance of an electrolytic capacitor decreases slightly with temperature. Additionally, its Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) increases greatly. Bad electrolytic capacitors are often identified by having high ESR rather than low capacitance, so this effect might be what you are observing.
