Green hydrogen is the only truly sustainable solution for Enel Green Power to support the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors, where electrification of end uses is not an easy solution. For that reason, Enel Green Power is glad to participate in the ORANGE.BAT consortium.
Green Hydrogen is a clean energy source that is produced by separating hydrogen from water using renewable energy. Not only is the consumption of natural gas replaced by Green Hydrogen, avoiding CO2 emissions, but the generated oxygen is used to improve the KILN process, and the generated heat is used for industrial and residential heating to achieve maximum energy efficiency along the full value chain.
Green hydrogen is believed to be a very powerful tool for Europe to achieve its ambitious decarbonization targets, particularly when it comes to energy-intensive industrial sectors, such as the ceramics sector (ETRA believes this).
