The climate environment and energy crisis have greatly stimulated China's research, development and application of solar energy , and the development of the PV industry is considered an important direction for China to achieve green development and transformation and is also an important tool to achieve the “dual carbon” goal .
Based on the above reasons, the Chinese government plans to vigorously promote the construction of photovoltaic system in rural areas, which has been included in the 14 th Five-Year Plan of renewable energy development. In the foreseeable future, rural photovoltaic system in China will achieve rapid and sustainable growth. Figure 4.
In China, solar industry has also maintained a rapid pace of development. The manufactured PV modules have achieved an exponential growth from less than 4.382–36 GW in just the past six years. An illustration of the manufactured PV modules in China from 2009 to 2014 is shown in Fig. 2.
From the perspective of total amount of technology patents registered in the PV industry, after nearly 40 years of development, China’s PV industry independent innovation capability has been greatly improved.
