Typical parameters for a Lead Acid Car Battery include a specific energy range of 33–42 Wh/kg and an energy density of 60–110 Wh/L. The specific power of these batteries is around 180 W/kg, and their charge/discharge efficiency varies from 50% to 95%.

Why do lead acid batteries need to be sized?

The capacity of all batteries changes with temperature, and for lead acid batteries, more change is found, particularly at the lower temperatures. The battery therefore has to be sized to provide the required standby time even under the worst applicable temperature conditions.

Does a lead acid battery have a maximum current rating?

Unlike LiPo batteries with have a maximum current rating, the lead acid battery only stated the "initial current", which is used for charging. The label stated not to short the battery. Hence, may I know what/how to find out the safe current to draw? How will the battery fail if I draw too much current (explode/lifespan decreased/?)? Thanks
