If one or more cells have high internal resistance or have degraded, they will become a bottleneck and limit the battery pack’s capacity. To improve the quality of the battery pack, it is important to select cells that all have an equivalent internal resistance. The second reason for measuring internal resistance is for battery maintenance.
The increase in resistance in a Li-ion battery can be attributed to the variation of the electrolyte, interface, and charge transfer resistance, as well as the double layer capacitance during battery cycling. The electrode surface area loss is also a significant factor affecting the resistance.
Batteries will always have some resistance. Though the internal resistance may be or appear low, around 0.1Ω for an AA alkaline battery, and about 1Ω to 2Ω for a 9-volt alkaline battery, it can cause a noticeable drop in output voltage if a low-resistance load is attached to it.
You can shove a resistor over the BST squib wires, around 3.3 Ohms, and it'll accept it as fitted. Unfortunately I tried that. 1. Replace the BST. Though when I check the original one it looked fine. FAIL 2. I soldered the resistor after the connector in series. FAIL 3.

Remove your battery and clean the terminals - see the white crud underneath? Buy a replacement for that short cable. Clean the nut, washer and that area with a small wire …
My fix was to place a resistor 3.3 Ohm resistance 1/4 watt into the loom from the Airbag module under the centre console. This overrides the sensor and the light can be turned of via the OBD. i know that this by-passes …
Battery satefy terminal 1, resistance too high How do I fix this issue? I''m not sure how to resolve this short circuit to positive
Yes, disconnect, clean if needed and reconnect. All you need to do is remove the trim under the seat and raise/recline the seat to gain access. Also make sure to disconnect the …

Hey friends, I have a 2005 MCS Convertible with an Airbag light on because of the BST fault as well. (Water in the battery compartment.) I just purchased an entire Positive …
If the internal resistance increases on one of the battery cells this means the battery will supply less current and will probably heat up more than it should. There is a direct …
